Mississauga Real Estate – According to the Toronto Real Estate Board report new listings increased by 33.6% in April 2017 vs 2016. For this reason its a relief to home buyers. Therefore home purchasers have more selection of inventory than in recent months. In addition there is less demand for homes during this same period as home sales to decline by 3.2%. Resulting average sale price for all home types was up by 24.6% to an average price of $920,791 across the Greater Toronto Area.

Good news for Mississauga workers

Moreover, it’s good news for workers our region in April as Ontario’s economy boasts robust unemployment of 5.8%. Incidentally the lowest rates since 2001. Also noteworthy, the Ontario government announced the Fair Housing Plan. An initiative meant to cool down “residential home purchases for investment “by non-resident foreigners. Speculation is this new tax  will lead to lower Mississauga House Price increases. Lastly, TREB noted in the report they anticipate a more balanced housing market moving through this year.

Mississauga Homes are lower priced than Toronto

In Mississauga the story is the sheer number of new residents. Immigration has created an insatiable demand for housing and Mississauga home purchases. Many families move here through Pearson Airport, the largest port of entry to Canada. Our Universities are world class. Consequently they attract record numbers of International students, many who apply for permanent residency after graduation. Furthermore migration from Toronto residents to more affordable housing has driven demand for Mississauga Real Estate. Mississauga homes were 18% lower priced than similar homes in Toronto during April.
