Mississauga is Canada’s sixth largest city with 585,000 residents, about 9,700 manufacturing, distribution and business services, and about 9,000 retailers. As one of the most affluent cities in the Golden Horseshoe/Greater Toronto Area (GHGTA), our city maintains very high service standards in the areas of education, policing, health care, fire and other emergency services. We have well-maintained roads, and excellent housing and recreational facilities.

Mississauga is a multicultural city, with many of our residents claiming a connection to the Orient, the East Indies, the Caribbean, the Philippines and Europe. Residents participate extensively in the arts, and more than 170 performing and visual arts groups flourish in our city.

Aside from our many cultural advantages, Mississauga is also home to Square One, one of Ontario’s largest shopping centres, as well as Playdium, Canada’s first interactive entertainment centre. We have more than 400 parks of various sizes and an endless array of restaurants, golf courses, fitness clubs, and other leisure outlets. Mississauga is a well-managed city and a great place to live.
