Mississauga Real Estate – Scott Brubacher Broker – According to the Toronto Real Estate Board market watch report for January 2018, across the GTA, the number of sales for the year 2017 was down 18.3% over 2016. Notably government policy decisions such as the Ontario Fair Housing Plan contributed to a volatile real estate market. Adjustment in detached home prices has subsided

On the positive side in Mississauga homes,  the adjustment in detached house prices has subsided. To enumerate, during December the average price of a detached home rebounded with an increase of 7.6% over the one month.To illustrate, refer to the chart below for the different market segment performance. Presently a balanced market is good for buyers and sellers especially with the sales to new listings ratio at 53.5%.

Making room for the middle in Mississauga

On another note, the city of Mississauga released a draft report “Making room for the Middle” a strategy for affordable housing in the city. Furthermore, Mississauga homes attract Toronto families for more affordable housing, so they get a deal. See for your self.

In conclusion, as we move through January 2018, we will have to wait for the impact of New Mortgage Rules, Foreign Buyers and possible higher interest rates. In the event that weather conditions are more severe,the Mississauga Real Estate Market may be off to a slower start. On the other hand, milder weather will bring out would be buyers and sellers for an early Spring market.
